Donna Hernandez, Handi-Riders Executive Director said the more we are as a community helping each other out the better that we are as a community. “We’re trying to find solutions to help with fundraisers and we’re trying to get other nonprofits to work together.” Every week at the end of camp class the goal of the summer camp is to have someone special come out to the site she said.
The special events started as something special for her summer camp and she said she thought it would be nice to open it to other vendors and other businesses that has helped them out she said. To bring other nonprofits in to know who Handi-riders are is the goal.” Handi-Riders has been serving Northern California since 1981 by providing equine assisted therapy to children and adults suffering from physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities. Hernandez said the organization is not just for special needs. “We’re open to schools coming out ( to the program) as a class, we are open to a lot of things out in the public.”
